Top varnish removal using a low polar, mild solvent mixture.

This charming portrait of a lady was buried under a natural resin varnish which had severely yellowed over time. Luckily, numerous tests showed it could be removed with a mild solvent recipe. After removal of the darkened varnish, it turned out to be an even more stunning portrait, showing the artistic genius in the blending of skin tones and the depiction of light.
